“Scumbag,” Maine Democrat Senate candidate Graham Platner, has a LOT of explaining to do. It just keeps getting worse for the communist as his past is unveiled, as well as his infidelity. Instead of being a man about it, he’s also letting his wife make excuses for his disgusting behavior.
Threaten, Lie, Lie About Lying
Twitchy pointed out that one particularly astute post summed it up for the oyster farmer: Platner’s campaign is a “Three-act farce: Threaten, lie, then lie about lying.” That perfectly describes what his adviser and team are doing to try to stop the bleeding out in the media for his campaign. It’s way too late for that.
A Sexual Predator’s Paradise
Fox News is reporting that Platner has not deactivated his account on Kik, an anonymous chatting platform that is known for the proliferation of child sexual abuse material. It’s called a “Predator’s Paradise.” He evidently got caught trolling for sex on the app where he has posted a sexually suggestive picture, showing his naked torso with a towel draped around his waist. It is unclear when the image was taken, but Platner created the account in 2016. Approximately 70% of the users on that platform are between 13 and 24 years of age.
Kik is on the National Center on Sexual Exploitation’s “Dirty Dozen” list for facilitating and profiting from sexual exploitation. It was rated the worst app for severe sexual content in 2024 by Bark, a parental control and online safety platform. At least four Maine men have been sentenced for distributing child pornography or soliciting nude pictures from underage girls by posing as minors while using Kik between 2023 and 2025.
The Kik messaging app “has been the center of numerous pedophilia scandals,” the New York Post reported.
The Wall Street Journal first reported on Platner’s Kik presence. The media outlet reported that he sent sexually explicit messages to multiple women while married to his wife, Amy Gertner. They were married in 2023. His wife discovered the sleaze’s adulterous messages in the spring of 2025. She would go on to share them with a former campaign official who went public with them and then was threatened and smeared by one of Platner’s top advisers.
Gertner’s admission came as “some aides were conducting opposition research on their own candidate.” The aides’ opposition research occurred as “the campaign had been preparing for a major rally” with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), according to the Wall Street Journal.
A campaign official told Breitbart that “Aides ultimately decided the texts were a private matter that was being handled by the couple in marriage counseling.”
Gertner Stands by Her Nazi
Gertner released a statement claiming that she had thought “She was confiding in an aide she considered a friend,” adding that she and her husband “did the hard work that marriage requires.”
Genevieve McDonald, who had previously served as the political director for Platner’s campaign, told the New York Times in an interview that Gertner “told her that her husband had been exchanging sexual messages with as many as a dozen women.”
According to the Daily Caller, media strategist Morris Katz threatened McDonald over whistleblowing against Platner. Katz has also advised New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Democratic Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman’s campaigns.

McDonald said the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) had called her prior to publishing their stories as a courtesy call. After the Journal contacted Platner’s campaign, Katz “demanded” that McDonald retract her comments and record herself calling the publication, telling them their reporting was inaccurate. After she refused, Katz threatened to defame McDonald in a text message.
“Just want to be clear on where we are right now,” Katz wrote in a message to McDonald. “If the story goes in its current iteration we’ll communicate directly on the record, and by name, that Genevieve violated the personal trust of Amy and Graham and shared explicit falsehoods to sabotage the campaign.”
“It’s no one’s fucking business what happened in Graham & Amy’s marriage before he was ever a candidate for office,” Katz posted on X. “There should be no place in our politics for incompetent, opportunistic operatives who violate privacy, betray trust, and prioritize vengeance over decency.”
Gertner released a video blasting the media for reporting on Platner’s alleged cheating, which she labeled “gossip” while insisting she has a “great” marriage.
“It makes me really angry, disappointed,” Gertner said. “And I find it really shameful that there’s a group of media outlets and people who are willing to spread gossip instead of talking about real issues that Graham is running on.”
“We went to counseling,” Gertner asserted. “We were honest with each other in ways that weren’t easy. And we came through it, not in spite of how much we’ve been through, but because of how much we love each other and the life we’ve built.”
Gertner added that their “marriage today is stronger than ever,” and that she knows the man she married and “the husband he has been” to her.
Platner Imitates Schultz
Platner claims he deleted the app long before the Wall Street Journal reported on it, but Fox News says it is still active. His Kik user ID is Phustle0331.
Of course, this is only one of a slew of scandals that Platner is mired in.

- Encouraged military contractors to “bang hookers in Thailand.”
- Called the Virgin Mary a “skank.”
- DUI.
- Appeared on an antisemite’s podcast who says the Jews killed Kennedy.
Even Democratic loon Cory Booker is now saying that Platner has questions to answer and is distancing himself from the far-left candidate.
Democrats have been determined to support and defend Platner despite everything simply because he’s on their ticket. But even that has its limits. No one, even in leftist Maine, can survive politically when they are up to their eyeballs in sleaze, racism, hatred, infidelity, and who knows what else the way Platner is.
Then again, since the Overton Window has already moved, voters in Maine may not care and go on to elect someone as despicable as Platner. It shows how far the US has slipped in morality and ethics. The Left now wears hypocrisy as a badge of honor.
