Democratic Socialist Zohran Mamdani has padded his inner circle with young Gen Zers who have little to no political experience. They are, for the most part, wealthy, elitist communists who want to profit as the Big Apple rots.
Young communists unite
The New York Post has done an excellent report on Mamdani’s brain trust of 30-somethings with ties to decrepit, evil leftist billionaire George Soros. These individuals grew up in wealthy homes just as Mamdani did and went to private schools where they were thoroughly indoctrinated. In New York City’s anointed mayor-to-be’s wake, these progressives could rule the city for years to come.
“We’re getting ready for another administration of shocking naïveté,” one Democratic operative asserted in what is seen as an understatement. More to the point, it will be incompetence fed by communist talking points and disastrous Democratic experiments. As the city falls, these privileged dunderheads will remain pretty much unscathed. However, they will leave poverty, crime, and chaos as their legacy for everyone else.
Mamdani, 33, appeals to the youth in New York City who have never been taught how America was really built, what it was founded upon, or what the Founders believed. Instead, they have been filled with Marxist propaganda. That led to his shocking win of the Democratic primary there, where he stomped on his opponents. Now, he’s literally running away with the lead in the race, and the city is bracing for catastrophe.
Within the nearly 20 operatives surrounding the young Muslim radical, eight of them are under 36 years old. What they lack in age, they make up for with communist zeal, and three of them have direct ties to that old spider Soros. Half a dozen of them were raised in million-dollar homes, according to Zillow. They were also surrounded by celebrities and leftist stars.
Mamdani’s top lieutenants pull in an average of $10,000 to $12,000 per month when the median salary is $58,000 in New York City, according to the New York Post.
Elliana (Elle) Bisgaard-Church
The chief advisor for Mamdani is Elliana (Elle) Bisgaard-Church, 34, who hails from California and got her degree from Columbia University. She is a Democratic Socialist and serves on his assembly team as his chief of staff.
Bisgaard-Church has less than five years of political experience in New York politics. That little fact hasn’t stopped her, though, from coming up with policies that his campaign is running on. She’s paid roughly $11,000 a month to do so.
Morris Katz
Morris Katz is 26. He previously lied about his age to the New York Times, claiming he was 28. That’s a bad indicator of his character. He is from Tribeca and is an ad-maker for Mamdani.
He is the son of screenwriter David Bar Katz and has schmoozed with actors such as Sam Rockwell and Philip Seymour Hoffman as he grew up in his parents’ $5 million Manhattan apartment. He is a self-proclaimed populist.
Julian Gerson
Julian Gerson, 29, is a speechwriter for Mamdani and is present at many of his public appearances, according to the New York Post.
He attended the Dalton School and grew up in a multimillion-dollar home in Woodstock. Unlike others, Gerson does have some political experience, albeit of the Marxist variety. He worked for soon-to-retire US Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) and former Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
Donald Borenstein
Donald Borenstein is one of the highest-paid individuals on Mamdani’s team.
They claim that the “34-year-old is the vision and brains behind many of Mamdani’s viral videos.” He has been paid over $60,000 since late 2024 for coming up with brainwashing propaganda aimed at New York City’s youth. By all accounts, he’s been VERY successful at it.
He is a Fordham graduate and grew up in the DC suburbs in a rented home valued at $1.8 million.
Andrew Epstein
Andrew Epstein, 38, graduated from Yale. He is a former campaign worker and chief of staff to Assemblywoman Emily Gallagher (D-Brooklyn). He came on board Mamdani’s campaign in 2024 as a communications director and then morphed into a creative director.
Zara Rahim
Zara Rahim, 34, is Mamdani’s direct connection to Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. She was a staffer for Obama and worked for Clinton. Now, she’s a senior adviser to Mamdani.

The South Florida native also worked with brands such as Uber and Vogue, as well as serving as an adviser to Mariah Carey on the singer’s acclaimed 2020 memoir and book tour, according to BK Mag.
“I’ve worked with some of the most prolific people and brands, and I’ve been in incredible rooms and I belonged in those rooms, period,” she told Coveteur magazine in 2022.
Rahim isn’t the only one with close ties to Soros in Mamdani’s camp.
Diplomat and Obama-era Democrat Patrick Gaspard considers the political power player a “friend,” according to social media, and served as president of Soros’ Open Society Foundation between 2017 and 2020.
Dora Pekec
Dora Pekec, at 25, is the youngest person in Mamdani’s brain trust.
She graduated from Duke University and worked for one-time Democratic mayoral contender and City Comptroller Brad Lander on his failed campaign as communications director. Before that stint, she was with the House Majority PAC.
Maya Handa
Maya Handa, 30, stepped in for Bisgaard-Church as campaign manager for Mamdani.
She also has some political experience, having run the mayoral primary campaign of state Sen. Zellnor Myrie, although that campaign failed. Handa is connected to the communist Working Families Party and was also part of the failed campaign of Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) for president.
Cea Weaver
Celia (Cea) Weaver, 36, is Mamdani’s adviser on housing. She is probably one of the most brazen communists in his orbit, publicly advocating to end private property for years.
“Seize private property!” she tweeted in June 2018. “Private property including and kind of ESPECIALLY homeownership is a weapon of white supremacy,” Weaver proclaimed in August 2019.
She is also a member of the Democratic Socialists of America. She bluntly pushes communism, tweeting back in December 2017, “Elect more Communists.”
Weaver was at one time the director of the New York State Tenant Bloc, a group advocating for tenant protection in Albany. She was also the coalition director of Housing Justice for All, a group backed by Soros.
Mamdani, no doubt, will attract more young communists as he goes. His inner circle is full of communists, radical Islamic supremacists, and anti-Israel activists.
It’s evidently become fashionable in New York City to be part of a political ideology that has killed millions. And these young Marxists could rule over the ashes of the city for years to come, finishing what was started on 9/11.
