The East Plano Islamic Center (EPIC), already known for its radicalism, has taken its youth indoctrination to the next level—pushing an aggressive, anti-Israel and anti-American narrative under the guise of a children’s story. In a lecture titled “Palestine Occupation Explained: For Kids!”, delivered by Ustadh Morad Awad, EPIC’s Youth Director, the masjid explicitly frames the Jewish state as an oppressive, violent “bully” and urges Muslim children to take action. But it doesn’t stop there. America itself is painted as the enabler, the silent force behind this so-called oppression, fostering resentment not just toward Israel, but toward the U.S. government and the West as a whole.
EPIC is more than just a mosque. It is the epicenter of a strategic and coordinated effort to Islamize Texas, using its rapidly expanding mega-mosque and Islamic schools to build a network of Islamic enclaves that seek to operate outside the framework of U.S. law. This radical institution is not simply a place of worship; it is a hub of ideological indoctrination and political activism, designed to reshape Texas through Islamic influence.
This isn’t education. This is recruitment into a victimhood ideology that breeds hatred and, ultimately, violence.
The Dangerous Parable: Justifying Attacks Against Israel and America
Awad sat with a Palestinian flag behind him—not an American flag—while wearing a Palestinian keffiyeh wrapped around his neck. The keffiyeh is a symbol of the Palestinian ‘resistance’ (that is, jihad terror) against Israel, and it has no place in America; it represents an incitement to violence and hatred.
The story he spun was a calculated attempt to cultivate a sense of victimhood and hostility, built upon a deliberately manipulative analogy. His entire tactic hinged on distorting reality, weaponizing a false victim narrative to invert actual historical truths—an inversion made clear in the analogy he used:
- A Muslim boy represents “Palestine.”
- A bully represents “Israel.”
- The school principal and teachers symbolize America and the West, allowing and enabling oppression.
- The four students who start a revolt represent those who fight back against Israel.
The dangerous Islamic youth leader paints a picture of a helpless Muslim boy being systematically stripped of his rights, his desk, his food, and his belongings—paralleling the Palestinian cause. The “bully,” symbolic of Israel, is described as stronger, forceful, and violent. But the real poison comes in the solution presented to children—the Muslim boy resorts to violence, punches the bully, and knocks his teeth out. And this is framed as justified resistance.
Teaching Muslim Kids That “Resistance” Means Violence
This isn’t just a speech about “standing up for what’s right.” The lesson for Muslim children is clear:
- You are the victim.
- The oppressor (Israel) will keep stealing from you.
- No one will help you.
- You must take matters into your own hands.
- Violence is the only way to fight back.
This mirrors the rhetoric used by terrorist organizations like Hamas to radicalize young Muslims into believing that jihad, or violent resistance, is their duty. But more alarmingly, this speech also primes children to see America as the enemy, as the principal who turns a blind eye or even encourages oppression.
The Call to Action: Mobilizing Young Muslims Against Israel and America
The imam doesn’t stop at this stretched and tortured analogy—he explicitly calls on young Muslims to think, before they go to bed at night, about how they will stand up for their “brothers and sisters” in Palestine.
This is a direct call for action, thinly veiled as an emotional plea. What kind of “help” is he referring to? Protests? Riots? Something worse?
And this is being fed to children.
EPIC Masjid: A Hub of Radicalization in America
EPIC Masjid is one of the largest and most influential mosques in Texas, drawing in thousands of worshippers and wielding significant influence in the local Muslim community. With political ties and funding from radical foreign entities, it has repeatedly positioned itself as a force for Islamic expansion in the U.S. under the guise of “community work.”
This mosque’s history of extremism is well-documented. Its leaders have openly supported and promoted the dangerous anti-Jewish Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement—a movement eerily similar to the Nazi-era boycotts against Jews. Furthermore, EPIC Masjid has refused to condemn Hamas and has instead aligned itself with the terrorist organization, openly identifying with them.
EPIC Masjid has also openly advocated for Aafia Siddiqui, a convicted terrorist with direct ties to al-Qaeda, Osama bin Laden, and the 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. Siddiqui was caught with blueprints for terror attacks in New York and attempted to execute U.S. soldiers. Despite overwhelming evidence, the mosque’s leaders portray her as a “persecuted Muslim woman” and use EPIC Masjid as a rallying point to demand her release, helping raise funds and put pressure on the U.S. government to release her.
Additionally, RAIR exposed EPIC Masjid’s schools having all the children in their Islamic schools dressed in Palestinian clothing, wearing keffiyehs, and chanting the genocidal “From the river to the sea” slogan. This phrase explicitly calls for the elimination of the Jewish state. This radical programming is not limited to sermons but is actively being instilled in children, ensuring the next generation of American-born Muslims grows up with an anti-Israel, anti-Western mindset.
Why Is EPIC Masjid Not Being Held Accountable Under Texas Law?
Texas law is clear when it comes to foreign influence, terrorism support, and anti-Israel boycotts. The Texas Attorney General’s Advisory (May 2, 2024) explicitly states that Texas Government Code Chapter 809 prohibits public contracts, investments, or financial entanglements with entities that engage in Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) activities against Israel.
This means that entities linked to BDS, terrorist financing, or foreign-controlled investments are ineligible for state funding and economic incentives.
So why is EPIC Masjid—an institution that has openly supported BDS and refused to condemn Hamas—still operating without consequence? Why is this mosque not being cut off from state benefits and publicly investigated for its direct violations of Texas law?
This blatant lack of enforcement raises serious concerns about whether Texas officials are turning a blind eye to Islamic radicalization and the funding of anti-Israel movements within the state. The law exists—it must be enforced.
This Isn’t About Palestine—It’s About the Islamization of the West
The real danger here isn’t just anti-Israel rhetoric—it’s that Western governments continue to tolerate and even protect these radical Islamic institutions under the banner of “religious freedom.” Imagine if a Christian church were openly instructing children to see an entire group of people as “bullies” and to “fight back.” The outrage would be immediate.
But when it comes to Islam? Silence.
This is how Islamic influence spreads unchecked in America—under the radar, feeding generations of young Muslims an anti-Western, anti-Jewish, victimhood narrative that ensures they grow up seeing the West as an enemy rather than a home.
The Bottom Line: EPIC Masjid Must Be Exposed and Investigated
This isn’t just a mosque—it’s a radical institution actively working to create a new generation of Muslims who view Jews, Israel, and America as enemies.
The U.S. government needs to take immediate action:
- Investigate EPIC Masjid for inciting hatred and radicalizing youth.
- Cut off any federal or state funding or tax-exempt protections.
- Expose and monitor the foreign influences behind their operations.
- Hold accountable the imams and leaders spreading these messages.
- Enforce Texas law against BDS supporters and entities linked to terrorist organizations.
