Dead bodies are piling up in Chicago every day as Mayor Brandon Johnson (D) rails against President Trump and vows that union members will fight the government to keep the National Guard off their streets to restore law and order. It’s simply Orwellian.

Johnson incites violence against the government on Labor Day
Over the weekend, at least 52 people were shot in the Windy City, and seven of them are now dead. But dead Chicagoans don’t seem to matter to Johnson, whose communist rhetoric and incitement to violence are well known.
The progressive mayor raged at a crowd during a Workers Over Billionaires Labor Day rally aimed at organized labor, warning them that they need to “defend” themselves from Trump’s preparations to clean up his streets since he seems either incapable or determined not to do so himself.

From WBEZ Chicago, “Hundreds gathered at a memorial to the victims of the 1886 Haymarket bombing targeting a pro-labor demonstration and slammed Trump’s plan to send federal immigration agents and potentially National Guard troops to Chicago.”
Trump will send in the National Guard, and ICE will follow
President Trump indicated on August 22nd that he was ready and willing to start stomping on violent crime in Chicago just as he has done in Washington, DC. He told reporters, “I think Chicago will be our next. … And then we’ll help with New York.”
The next day, The Washington Post reported that the Pentagon had been planning a military deployment to Chicago for weeks. On August 26, Trump took it up a notch, declaring, “Everybody knows Chicago is a hellhole right now.”
Indeed, it is thanks to Democrats. People there are crying out for Trump to do something.

Johnson rages as the killing fields of the Windy City overflow
In 2024 alone, under Johnson’s incompetent leadership, Chicago had 572 murders. That makes it the deadliest city in the US for the 13th consecutive year, according to the Daily Wire.
“No federal troops in the city of Chicago,” Johnson shouted, revving up the union members. “No militarized force in the city of Chicago. We’re going to defend our democracy in the city of Chicago. We’re going to protect the humanity of every single person in the city of Chicago. And we got the baddest freaking labor movement in the city of Chicago, birthed right here.”
“We’re gonna take this fight across America, but we gotta defend our home front first,” he vowed.
The mayor kept on inciting for all he was worth, using leftist talking points galore:
The best way we can defend our home front is to make sure that every single worker has a livable wage. That’s why we abolished the sub-minimum wage in Chicago for brown and black women. They get raises on top of their tips. This is the city of Chicago, where we have given paid time off for over a million workers, ten days off, the biggest city in America to ever do it. This is the labor movement, you all, on pace to build more affordable units, a teachers’ contract that protects black women, a teachers’ contract that protects LGBTQ community, the teacher contract that protects immigrants. This is the greatest freaking city in the world. We’re Chi-town.
Now look, there are some people that have doubts in the labor movement. There are some people who believe that we don’t have the power to beat authoritarianism. But I’m also a history teacher as well. We have stood up for the interests of workers before and we will do it again, and no matter what comes from the White House, Chicago will always be a labor town. Are you with me, Chicago?
Inciting violence is a crime
Then he flat-out lied about history after touting that he was a history teacher, “Are you prepared to defend this land, this land that was built by slaves, a land that was built by indigenous people, a land that was built by workers, are you prepared to defend this land? The people, united, will always prevail.”
“I need you all to stand firm, to stand strong if this president decides to continue to break this Constitution, it’s gonna be the labor movement that stitches it back together, the labor movement that brings black folks, white folks, Asians; it brings brown folks together. This is a city that said, ‘Keep hope alive,’ the city that birthed, ‘Yes we can,’ and the city that will defend this country,” he said, obviously calling for an insurrection.
Just days earlier, Johnson signed an executive order declaring that the Chicago Police Department will “remain a locally controlled law enforcement agency” and urged Trump to “stand down” from sending in National Guard troops, according to The Hill. The order also prohibits Chicago police officers from collaborating with federal agents or military personnel on immigration enforcement or patrols… in other words, from doing their jobs.
Trump posted to Truth Social on Tuesday:
At least 54 people were shot in Chicago over the weekend, 8 people were killed. The last two weekends were similar. Chicago is the worst and most dangerous city in the World, by far. Pritzker needs help badly, he just doesn’t know it yet. I will solve the crime problem fast, just like I did in DC. Chicago will be safe again, and soon. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! He added, “CHICAGO IS THE MURDER CAPITAL OF THE WORLD!
Labor leaders spout violent communism to their members

Bob Reiter, the powerful president of the Chicago Federation of Labor, kicked off the program to raucous cheering from members of the Chicago Teachers Union, the Service Employees International Union, and other labor groups, saying they were “standing up to Donald Trump’s attacks on working people.
“He thinks he can just rip up union contracts and give tax cuts to billionaires like Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Antonio Gracias,” Reiter said. Gracias is the CEO of a private equity firm in Chicago who worked for the Department of Government Efficiency, the initiative Trump and Musk used to slash government programs and jobs.
Chicago Teachers Union president Stacy Davis Gates, a mayoral ally, denounced “billionaire tyranny on our city” and the Trump administration’s attacks on public health and education.
“Solidarity is the antidote to white supremacy,” Davis Gates said. “Solidarity is the antidote to anti-immigrant fever. Solidarity is the antidote to homophobia and transphobia. Solidarity is the antidote to people not having and needing. It is solidarity that reunites us.”
Later in the day, Chicago restaurant workers and members of the One Fair Wage coalition continued the demonstrations.
Two protest leaders were detained by police during the rally.
Richard Rodriguez, the national policy director of One Fair Wage, and Mike Oles, chief of staff of Progressive Democrats of America, stopped traffic on East Wacker Drive to sit at a table in the street with a plate of tacos. “TACO” is the lame leftist euphemism that stands for “Trump Always Chickens Out.”
Police told them to leave… when they refused, they were handcuffed and briefly held. Of course, they let them go.
There is no daylight between communists and organized labor anymore. None.
Chicago is about to experience firsthand that Trump does not chicken out, and the communists’ actions there are coming home to roost. If violence occurs, the Left will get a taste of law and order they weren’t counting on.
