On June 16, 2025, New York’s Times Square was overtaken by a mass rally in open support of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Organized by the Bronx Anti-War Coalition—a socialist, pro-Palestinian group- the event featured shocking chants, violent rhetoric, and open displays of allegiance to Iran’s regime.
Protesters loudly chanted:
“Iran, Iran makes us proud! Burn Tel Aviv to the ground!”
“US drones in the sky, Iran’s missiles will reply!”
“Courts and talks won’t set us free, resistance brings victory!”
Iranian regime flags waved beside posters of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the late Qasem Soleimani, and former President Ebrahim Raisi. Some signs read:
“A genocidal apartheid state has no right to exist” while one depicted a burning Israeli flag with the words “Karma’s a bitch.”
Fringe anti-Zionist Jewish group Neturei Karta also participated, standing atop Israeli flags as they marched in solidarity with Tehran.
One speaker told the crowd:
“Iran is defending itself against terrorist aggression from the US and Zionist regimes.”
In a separate viral video, a man dressed as Jesus, covered in fake blood and nailed to a wooden crucifix, screamed:
“F* Israel,”** as he stood in the middle of Times Square.
The rally was followed by another similar event organized by The People’s Forum NYC and the Marxist Korean group Nodutdol, which accused the U.S. and Israel of plotting a joint war on Iran.
One member declared:
“Trump has shown the world that his word and the word of all US imperialists are worthless.”
They demanded an end to all U.S. financial and military aid to Israel and called for “international, working-class solidarity against the war-profiteering corporations using mayhem and genocide to line their pockets.”
As hatred for America and Israel was broadcast from the heart of Manhattan, the question grows louder: How did Times Square become a rally point for the Islamic Republic’s global propaganda machine?
